This instrument is a unique collaboration between luthier Randy Lucas and myself. Randy is a friend, fellow guitar builder, and tonewood supplier. After a visit to his shop, during which we discussed my Martin C-2 conversions, he told me of a similar but incomplete project he had. It had been put on the back burner due to a busy schedule of custom building. I agreed to purchase the guitar and complete the project. Randy had built and installed the new Adirondack spruce top (with Adirondack spruce scalloped/forward shifted X bracing, and Style 42 abalone/ivoroid rosette). Randy also supplied a new long scale OM width neck blank to replace the original short scale narrow one. I completed the neck (non-adjustable steel T bar neck reinforcement, ebony fingerboard, ivoroid binding, bar frets, Style 42 pale abalone inlays, bound Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay with pale abalone C. F. Martin inlay). The top was embellished with Style 42 abalone purfling. The top and! back w ere bound in grained ivoroid. A new nitrocellulose lacquer finish with amber tint was sprayed, leveled, and buffed. A 1930's style ebony bridge with long saddle slot, tortoise plastic tear drop shaped pick guard (under the finish), and ivory nut/saddle completed the instrument.

The resulting guitar is stunning in both appearance and tone. Contact me for a more thorough discussion of the sound, playability, and details of this fine instrument. With a new Martin Geib case, this guitar is for sale at $8500.
